Blue chip stocks rose today as investors moved into the safety of large company securities and away from trouble in the retail sector and in companies and investments with ties to Mexico. The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 28.26 points to close at 3,861.69 as trading on the New York Stock Exchange was light with total volume of 211.18 million shares.
