Months after a fall White House purge, White House Press Secretary Dee Dee Myers said today she's leaving her job at year's end. "It is time for me to move on to do other things," said the 34-year old native Californian, the first woman to hold the post. Myers' resignation was widely expected since her successful efforts to fight off an attempt by Chief of Staff Leon Panetta to move her to another job in a staff overhaul at the White House. Today, when asked if was being forced out, Myers said, "I'm neither jumping nor being pushed. I'm walking away when I think it's the best time." Myers' successor is rumored to be Mike McCurry, currently State Department spokesman.Post your opinion on theWashingtonbulletin board.
