Tropical Storm Gordon killed more than 100 people as it swept over the island countries of Haiti and Jamaica, and is expected to wreak even more havoc on its path up the U.S. east coast. U.S. troops are now involved in Haitian relief efforts. The deadly weather system is now moving across southern Florida, and, with winds still gusting up to 65 mph, the storm, though losing steam, may pick up strength in the Gulf of Mexico. The storm's track cannot be predicted. BTW: Gordon also forced a move of the scheduled landing of the space shuttle Atlantis from Cape Canaveral to the Mojave Desert. The craft and crew touched down safely this morning.
