In his first significant post-election act, President Clintonset out today for an Asian trade conferencethat aims to set a firm date for the launch of a free trade zone between the U.S. and Pacific Rim nations. With the election fresh on his mind, Clinton said he intended to use the visit to the second annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in Indonesia to "turn insecurity about our future into confidence."
