The GOP landslide continued in the House, where Judiciary Chairman Jack Brooks of Texas, at 21 terms the longest-serving lawmaker seeking re-election, was ousted by Republican Steve Stockman 52-46 percent. Former Ways and Means Chairman Dan Rostenkowski was handily defeated in a 55-45 upset by little-known GOP challenger Michael Flanagan.
