Spokane Democratic City Council member Ron Sims appears to have obliterated the gap between him and his GOP opponent, Sen. Slade Gorton, according to a poll published today. Gorton now leads Sims 44-41 -- a far cry from the 52-32 tally a month back, according to the Spokane Spokesman-Review poll. And Sims may just be able to narrow the remaining gap with a little help from his recently popular friend: President Clinton makes the rounds of the state this week.Post your opinion on theWashingtonbulletin board.
