Floating what prosecutors called "oddball theories," Simpson attorney Johnnie Cochran Jr. told potential jurors that as many as four people had committed the murders. "Are any of you going to require Mr. Simpson and his lawyers tosolve these killingsand identify the real killers?" Cochran asked. "You understand, that's not our job." Cochran's statements came during the questioning of a jury pool of 42 people -- part of aselection processJudge Lance Ito said is likely to take another month.
