O.J. Simpson's defense team brought race into the case again, slamming prosecutor Marcia Clark for asking prospective black jurors different questions than white ones. Defense attorneys implied today that Clark is trying to keep black jurors from the jury because they'd be more likely to revere the former football star. "It implies an insidious effort to try to get black jurors removed for cause because they are black, because they have black heroes, and because O.J. Simpson is one of them," defense attorney Robert Shapiro said during a break. Prosecutors called it another attempt to "manipulate public opinion." The last time race became an issue, defense attorneys accused Detective Mark Fuhrman of bias, leaving an angry Fuhrman threatening a lawsuit. At that point, the defense team said they wouldn't bring race into the trial.
