A PRELIMINARY "YO" TO THE YO-YO DIET

Losing weight only to gain it back may be a sign of a lost battle against the bulge, but it may not be dangerous, government researchers said today. Past data had indicated yo-yo dieting may disrupt metabolism, increase body fat and lead to heart and other health problems. But today a National Institutes of Health panel said it's far more dangerous to be overweight, although more research is needed.
