BABIES AT RISK

Babies in America are getting a dangerous start in life. Only 46 percent of the white infants and 34 percent of the black babies were up to date on their immunizations seven months after birth, according to a study in The Journal of the American Medical Association. Who's to blame: doctors. They're apparently reluctant to give shots to infants who may have minor illnesses, such as an ear infection.
