A controversial Colorado amendment against local gay-rights laws, the inspiration for a nationwide boycott when voters passed it in 1992, was struck down by the state's Supreme Court. The grounds: it denied gays an equal voice in government. The notorious Amendment 2, which would have voided anti-discrimination ordinances in Denver, Boulder and Aspen, was never really enforced and has been in and out of court ever since. Supporters plan to revive the case before the U.S. Supreme Court.
