Judge Lance Ito formally proposed an electronic media blackout of the O.J. Simpson trial today. The no-nonsense jurist said that media companies had to give him reasons why he should not issue an order to that effect in a hearing on November 7. Ito has been angry at television reporters since a KNBC-TV report last week that linked Nicole Simpson's blood to that found on O.J.'s socks. Ito called the story inaccurate, and was infuriated when the station repeated it the following day. The TV outlet has since recanted much of its story.
