Digital Video Ready for Prime Time

While the tech pundits ring in the new year with their favorite crystal balls (which we can only hope are Y2K-compliant), you might be wondering just which "revolution" is likely to actually affect you in 1999. Broadband access? Dont toss that 28.8 modem just yet. The Microsoft verdict? We're not selling our shares. The one big trend of 1999 you might actually find useful (and cheap) is desktop video.

Desktop video doesn't mean watching TV on your PC (although you can do that quite affordably too). It means linking up your camcorder with your PC so you can edit your own movies and put them on videotape, or on a CD-ROM, or on the Web. MORE>>
