The United States has regained its standing as the world's most competitive economy, according to the annual World Competitiveness Report, pushing Japan from the top spot to No. 3. Singapore ranked second. The improved U.S. showing was attributed to the nation's recovering economy, but the study also warns that emerging countries such as Latin America's Chile, Mexico, Argentina and Colombia could pose future threats.
