At least 13 people have overdosed on heroin in New York City in the past week, prompting a scare -- at least in the media -- that a powerful new form of the drug, "China Cat," is sweeping through the region and could widen its orbit. Police say one sample tested a lethal 94 percent pure, and that the overdoses are a sign of heroin's resurgence in a city where up to half the nation's 600,000 addicts live.
