ACADEMIC GENDER GAP CLOSING

Boys are still outscoring the girls on the two college entrance exams, the SAT and the ACT, but the gender gap is closing. Everybody seems to be doing better on the math questions than the verbal. The College Board, a non-profit organization that oversees the testing, released the figures late today, stating that overall the number taking the test has increased. Average scores for girls were up in both sections, while boys' performance slipped slightly.
