Alzheimer's disease has a shockingly high pricetag: $213,732, a study reveals, making it the third most expensive disease in the U.S. Making matters worse, the majority of the bills are shouldered by the families of the patients, since over 65 percent of the expenses, including round-the-clock care, aren't covered by insurance. The research was published in the American Journal of Public Health.
