A federal court threw a last-minute wrench into Shannon Faulkner's plan to become the Citadel military college's first woman cadet. Faulkner was set to enroll Monday after winning a sex-discrimination suit that had bounced up to the Supreme Court. But this afternoon a three-judge panel of the Fourth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals granted the school a delay until December, when the case goes back to the drawing board. Till then, Faulkner is stuck in the Citadel's day-student program. The silver lining: no court-ordered buzz cut for Faulkner, at least not this semester.
