Rudolph's African Dividend

The biggest beneficiary of the African embassy bombings may be Eric Robert Rudolph, the North Carolina fugitive wanted for an Alabama abortion-clinic bombing. The FBI announced Thursday that it was scaling back the manhunt for him, in part because of the personnel requirements of the Africa investigation. The Rudolph task force will be cut from 200 agents to 80, and its headquarters will be moved from a temporary encampment to a local warehouse -- a good idea, since the fugitive recently laid in a six-month supply of food to his hide out in the craggy forests of Macon County.
