BAD NEWS ON AIDS

The prospect of contracting a fatal illness apparently isn't enough to deter most people from engaging in unsafe sex, a new study suggests. European researchers found that, in a sample of 256 couples in which one partner was infected with the AIDS virus, 52 percent did not regularly use condoms for vaginal or anal intercourse. The study will be published tomorrow in the New England Journal of Medicine.
