The Fall of the House of O.J.
The Brentwood, Calif., mansion at 360 N. Rockingham Ave., where O.J. Simpson lived
when his ex-wife was slain two miles away, was bulldozed on Wednesday in
order to make way for a new owner's home. As the dust clouds swelled and
neighbors applauded, Simpson shrugged off the moment, saying: "It's not
my house, and I could care less." Simpson, who had lived there for 20
years, said he was notified the demolition was scheduled to take place, but
he was unmoved by the destruction. "It's part of my past," Simpson told the
Associated Press in a telephone interview from a rented home a few miles
away. "I am a sentimental guy," Simpson said. "But ... I've always tried to
live my life forward and not backward."
