Israel and Jordan made peace three weeks ago, but the historic ceremonies keep coming. Near the Red Sea ports of Aqaba in Jordan and Eilat in Israel today, Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and Jordan's Crown Prince Hassan opened the first border crossing between the two countries with two snips of a ribbon. Rabin then strode through the passage, the first time an Israeli has done so openly. Citizens will have to wait, however, since only VIPs will be allowed through until the two sides make a formal peace treaty.
