Burn Away Fat!

Talk about feeling the burn. Reubenesque users of a heating pad-style weight-loss device are getting scorched -- literally -- when the product, wrapped around their waist, arm or leg, bursts into flames, according to the FDA, which issued a warning Thursday about the pads.

The Personal Electro-Sauna was sold via Hispanic television channels throughout the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico by a company going by the names of Body Fitness Inc. and the TV Store Corp. The FDA, which only learned of the problem when a fire department reported of some suspicious apartment blazes, hastened to point out that it had not approved the product.

To the charred and still overweight victims, take heart -- nobody ever got fat on hospital food.
