It'll be a "sunny" homecoming for Shawn Colvin, whose "Sunny Came Home" won song and record of the year at last night's Grammy Awards. However, when Colvin came up to the stage to accept the first of the two awards, Ol' Dirty Bastard, of the rap group Wu-Tang Clan, grabbed the microphone and bragged about his group. ODB later was escorted from the stage and stalked down the center aisle of Radio City Music Hall -- and out the door. Of her award, Colvin, the veteran folk artist, said, "It's been a long road and this does matter. I appreciate it." Meanwhile, veteran folk-rocker Bob Dylan won best album and best contemporary folk album for "Time Out of Mind." His son, Jakob, was honored as a composer of the best rock song, "One Headlight," performed by his band, the Wallflowers. Father and son took home a total of five Grammys, three and two respectively. Rapper Puff Daddy, Lilith Fair founder Sarah McLachlan, country-bluegrass performer Alison Krauss, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, soul newcomer Erykah Badu and the late newsman Charles Kuralt were also multiple winners in the 40th annual awards show, held in Radio City Music Hall. Besides Barbra Streisand, two other planned performances were canceled due to illness -- George Strait was replaced by Vince Gill and Luciano Pavarotti's surprise fill-in was Aretha Franklin, who sang an aria. If Bob Dylan is feeling forever young this morning, who could blame him? His Grammy for "Time Out of Mind" capped a strange year for the folk-rock legend: He suffered a life-threatening heart virus, met the pope, performed the world over and was honored at the Kennedy Center. Last night's award for album of the year was his first Grammy since 1979, when he was cited for his born-again Christian-themed song, "Gotta Serve Somebody." Dylan never received a Grammy in the 1960s -- the peak of his creative influence. This year's album is considered his most acclaimed work in years. He even remained unflappable while performing "Love Sick" when a man with the words "Soy Bomb" painted on his torso leapt on stage to dance to the song. Dylan merely raised his eyebrows in a quizzical manner and kept right on singing.
