Day Two of the Jackal
PARIS: Carlos the Jackal calls his murder trial a
"judicial farce." Indeed, the anti-Bond seems intent on
engineering just that result. In court Monday:
Carlos blames the killings on Israel spies and French police. He demands
an immediate end to the trial.
The judge refuses. Carlos's lawyers quit in protest; Carlos defends himself for the remainder of the day. His main legal tactic seems to consist of shouting "You have no right
to be here" to the judge.
