BIG MONEY & POLITICS

Campaign-finance practices and huge gifts to political parties are stripping away the U.S.'s democratic foundations [BIG MONEY & POLITICS, Feb. 7]. These donations render our representative government a sham. When will the "little guys," the American people, wake up from a pop-culture trance and realize that campaign finance, not health-care reform, not Social Security, not the World Trade Organization, is the single most important issue for them and their families?
