THE TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL HAS BECOME THE UNOFFICIAL OPENING FOR OSCAR SEASON. LAST YEAR Lost in Translation, The Cooler and 21 Grams used TIFF as their first shot at an Academy close-up.
