DIED. GILBERT TRIGANO, 80, vacation visionary who steered Club Med from beachfront commune to worldwide, multimillion-dollar resort chain; in Paris. The child of Algerian Jews, Trigano fought against the Nazi occupation of France alongside Gerard Blitz, who would later found the trail-blazing retreat business. After the war, Trigano wrote for the communist newspaper L'Humanité before starting his 30-year career as helmsman of the company that delivered mai tais and tropical sunsets to the world's middle class.
