A founder of the Negro Ensemble Company in the '60s and a major black film star of the '70s, Cash enlivened classic classics (King Lear), modern classics (Lonne Elder's Ceremonies in Dark Old Men) and pulp classics (the 1971 sci-fi flick The Omega Man).
