Clinton's European Adventure
On his first European trip in office, President Clinton delivered a well- received speech in Brussels in which he stressed U.S. commitment to Europe and pledged to keep 100,000 troops there. Brussels was the site of a two-day nato summit, and the alliance agreed to Clinton's Partnership for Peace plan.
