Taking swift advantage, none other than Yasser Arafat was on the line from his headquarters in Tunisia to an Israeli television talk show, offering his enemies a "piece of the peace." Still, the government insists it will not speak directly to the P.L.O., despite leftists in the ruling coalition advocating an open dialogue.
