Surprisingly, some "oppo" operatives do talk regularly to their rivals by telephone. What could they possibly have to discuss? "I call to ridicule their pathetic attempts to attack us," says one oppo specialist. "Then we trade insults." Nothing like a little destructive criticism to get the juices flowing.
