When Swatch introduced a limited edition of watches styled like cucumbers, red chilis, and bacon with eggs, the first 5,250 sent to the U.S. were gobbled up at once. While most plastic Swatches sell for around $45, these retail at eight trendy food emporiums from Newport, R.I., to Seattle for $100. But will these tasteful timepieces by Pop painter Alfred Hofkunst appreciate like the graffiti-inspired ones from Keith Haring, offered in 1986 for $50 and now fetching up to $2,500?
