ARRESTED. John ("Hot Rod") Williams, 23, star center of the Tulane University basketball team, together with Teammates David Dominique, 19, and Bobby Thompson, 21; on charges of sports bribery for allegedly shaving points (holding back to lose or to affect the margin of victory in order to win bets) in two February games; in New Orleans. A local bookie with a long criminal record and three nonbasketball- playing Tulane students were arrested on similar charges; two of the students were accused in addition of conspiracy to distribute cocaine.
