Noel Fairchild Busch, 78, journalist and author who worked as a writer for TIME (1927-38), as an editor and senior writer for LIFE (1938-52) and as a World War II correspondent for both magazines; of pulmonary fibrosis; in Millbrook, N.Y. His books include biographies of Franklin Roosevelt (1944), Adlai Stevenson (1952), Theodore Roosevelt (1963) and Briton Hadden (1949), his cousin and co-founder with Henry Luce of Time Inc.
