In The Clan of the Cave Bear, now filming in northwestern Canada, Hannah portrays a young Cro-Magnon girl adopted by a tribe of less developed Neanderthals. Based on Jean Auel's bestselling novel, the movie, due next summer, will strive for authenticity, a fact that Hannah finds chilling.
