Prince Tomohito, 34, Oxford-educated son of Japan's Prince Mikasa, the youngest brother of Emperor Hirohito; and Nobuko Aso, 25, a Tokyo English teacher whose grandfather, Shigeru Yoshida, was his country's first elected postwar Prime Minister. The Council of Imperial Household Affairs had to approve the marriage (probably in October) of the shy commoner and the affable prince, whose first proposal seven years ago was turned down because of her age. Her description of her fiancé: "warm-hearted."
