As they try to sort out the bewildering tangle of air fares, vacationers planning summer trips to Europe can be sure of one thing: it will cost more. Last week 86 airlines belonging to the International Air Transport Association (IATA) agreed on a 6% fare increase on North Atlantic routes that will go into effect May 1.
