Flying in from her home in Hawaii, Clare Boothe Luce caught a Philadelphia performance of the Broadway-bound revival of her 1936 hit The Women. Later in Manhattan, dozens of old and new friends, including Senator and Mrs. Jacob Javits, Mrs. William F. Buckley Jr., Author David Halberstam, Director Joshua Logan and his wife, gathered at "21" to celebrate Mrs. Luce's 70th birthday.
