The sharp rap on the door of the La Paz hotel suite was impossible to ignore, even at 5 on a Sunday morning. Former Bolivian President Hernàn Siles Zuazo, 50, stumbled drowsily out of bed to answer the summons, and there stood half a dozen members of the government's control político police.
