¶ Ralph H. Demmler, 48, of Pittsburgh, was finally cleared by Pennsylvania's Senator Ed Martin as a member of the Securities & Exchange Commission. He will take over the chairmanship. Son of a well-to-do family (Demmler Brothers Co., distributors of sheet-metal products), Ralph Demmler attended Allegheny College and the University of Pittsburgh, was admitted to the Pennsylvania bar in 1928, and became a specialist in corporate and banking law.
