Cinema: Gone Again

Readers and moviegoers who delightedly saw Gone With the Wind through (1,037 pages and 26 reels of three hours and 45 minutes) to its bittersweet end were warned this week to get ready for a third round—and maybe a fourth or fifth: Wind Producer David O. Selznick announced that he has bought the stage, radio and TV rights to the book. Package price: a $3,500 down payment, plus generous royalty percentages.
