The last time big (220-lb.) Pitcher Carl DeRose had started a game for the Kansas City Blues, he could hardly sleep at night after the game for the pain in his arm. The Blues, a Yankee farm team, considered 24-year-old DeRose one of their most promising players, so they sent him off to the Yankees' trainer. He was advised to lay off for three weeks.
