The "Monodrama" dancer, John Bovingdon, fired without investigation from his OEWT job as Asiatic economic analyst after Representative Martin Dies unearthed his esthetic past (TIME, Aug. 9), last week got his side of the story into print. Reported the Washington Post: Bovingdon's knowledge of Japan (language and economics) has been said to be equaled by fewer than 20 persons in the U.S.; his dismissal may cause a serious vacancy in OEW for a considerable time.
