The last gasp of the tennis season was an encore to the national championships at Forest Hills: in the Pacific Southwest finals at Los Angeles this week, Sergeant Frank Parker again topped 4-F Bill Talbert (6-4, 6-8, 8-6), and U.S. Champion Pauline Betz again bested Runner-up Margaret Osborne (6-4, 6-3).
