He is also a good friend of the New Deal and has said he would take the Democratic nomination for President if it were offered. Rumor recently whispered that Thomas Gardiner Corcoran was advising him on ways & means of controlling his State's delegation to next year's Democratic Convention, possibly with a view to obtaining another nomination for Franklin Roosevelt, perhaps to offer New Deal support to Longshot...
