In picturesque Tashkent last week, Farmer George Lomakin
was tried for sabotage. "You are accused of failure to weed adequately,
" rattled off the Bolshevik prosecutor, "and of using too much fertilizer."
According to the Soviet official news agency, Farmer Lomakin was then stood
up before a firing squad and shot.
