A chiropractor, one Ernest G. Meyer, called to see a child suffering
with diphtheria. Failing to make a proper diagnosis, he treated the
condition by manipulations of the spine. Last week a jury in the
Brooklyn Supreme Court found him guilty of manslaughter, on account
of "culpable negligence," for which the maximum penalty is
imprisonment for from ten to twenty years.
