Mellett, crusading editor of the Canton, Ohio, Daily News (TIME, July 26, 1926, et seq.), Police Chief Seranus Lengel was tried for corruption, sentenced to prison. He got a new trial, an acquittal. Last week he was reinstated as Canton's police chief.
