The CARE World Hunger Fund began a program last week that will give Americans a chance to do their bit toward easing the famine that is killing thousands of people a day and causing half a billion to suffer from malnutrition around the world. Called the Empty Plate campaign, the plan asks Americans to give up, or reduce, one meal per week for the rest of the year and send the money saved to CARE.*
